About Palm Cove
Palm Cove is a beautiful beach suburb located 25 minutes north of Cairns on a thin strip of land between the impressive rainforest covered hills of the McAllister ranges to the West and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park to the East.
Due to its idyllic surroundings Palm Cove has developed predominantly as a holiday village. There are numerous other luxury hotels and resorts that are all well serviced by an extensive range of shops, restaurants and bars.
The sandy beach stretches some kilometers and lies alongside the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park World Heritage Area. There is a surf life saving patrolled area of the beach and a jellyfish ‘stinger’ enclosure that is used during the ‘stinger season’ in the summer months.
The local area has numerous tourist attractions and activities. Port Douglas is a forty minute drive to the north long a beautiful costal road, a short drive beyond Port Douglas lies the World Heritage Daintree Forest and Cape Tribulation.
Trips to the Great Barrier Reef leave from both Cairns and Port Douglas. All the major tourist vessel operators pick up and drop off direct from the resort.
